To our neighbors, families, educators, and friends,
Today, we pause to recognize something powerful: this community refused to give up on our kids and our town.
Saving schools does not happen because of one person or one moment. It happens because hundreds of people show up, again and again, when it matters most.
It was the parents who sent emails late into the night. The residents who stood at the microphone and spoke with courage. The volunteers who organized data, researched policy, and shared information. The neighbors who checked in, spread the word, and refused to stay silent. The select board members that listened and asked important questions about student safety. And the countless community members who believed that our schools are worth fighting for.
This was never just about buildings. It was about protecting the heart of our neighborhoods.
It was about standing up for our children, our educators, and our shared future. It was about reminding everyone, loud and clear, that decisions about our schools deserve transparency, accountability, and the full voice of the community. And that voice was heard.
We proved something important through this process:Engaged communities can shape outcomes.Voices raised together cannot be ignored.Holding leaders accountable to the oath they take and policies they must uphold matters.
But just as important as this moment of celebration is what comes next.
The work doesn’t end here. We remain committed to being constructive partners, advocating for strong schools, responsible financial planning, and decisions that reflect the needs and values of the entire community. We will continue to ask questions, expect transparency, and stay engaged in the process ahead. We look forward to working with the new Superintendent, the Administration, the Board, and the community at large on a strategic plan for the future of this district we all love.
For now, though, we want to say something simple and sincere: Thank you. Thank you for your time.Thank you for your energy.Thank you for your voices.Thank you for believing this fight was worth it.
Today, be proud to be part of this community. |
With gratitude, Your neighbors in this effort |
