What
SOS
IS
Doing
SOS regularly attends Board of Education meetings to present research, budget analysis, and community-based findings. Our goal is to advocate for transparency, honest communication, and accountability in decisions that affect Middletown students, families, and schools. We believe the Middletown Board of Education must remain transparent and truthful in its operations. By sharing reliable information with the community, we hope to keep residents informed, engaged, and better equipped to take part in the educational process.
Attending Meetings
WHY WE ATTENDED?
SOS regularly attends Board of Education meetings to ask critical questions, offer constructive feedback, and challenge narratives that lack grounding evidence.
By offering insights backed by research and data, SOS aims to spark informative discussions to help the BOE make informed decisions that impact our entire community.
Our presence serves to hold the Board of Education accountable, maintaining honesty, transparency, and effective follow-through of their commitments, communication, and budgetary responsibilities.
Researching &
Analyzing
Data
What do we look into?
SOS conducts in-depth research on various data that greatly influences Middletown Township schools. This encompasses a multitude of areas. Examining enrollment capacity, facility usage, and pinpointing necessary
infrastructure changes and maintenance.
The research also examines board legality, ensuring compliance with legal standards while identifying potential violations that may affect students, teachers, and district employees.
Additionally, SOS considers the tax implications for residents, offering a comprehensive view of how these elements interact with the educational environment.
Communication
Continuing dialogue with our Superintendent and Board of Education.
At our organization, we prioritize open and effective communication. We have filed hundreds of OPRA requests to gather public records and better understand the decisions affecting Middletown schools. We continue to communicate with the superintendent, Board of Education, and the community so families have access to clearer, more complete information. We also share updates through our social media channels and other community communication efforts.
